AOL Mail 502 Bad Gateway is a server error response code that denotes that the server is acting as a proxy, relaying information from another server. If the host server is changed, it’ll make changes to the website’s DNS server and cause the website to serve the visitor a 502 Gateway error. This error is just like a 404 error message.

  • Step 1:HTTP Error 502 Gateway.
  • Step 2:502 Service Temporarily Overloaded.
  • Step 3:502 Bad Gateway Nginx.
  • Step 4:Temporary Error (502).

How to recover the 502 Bad Gateway Error:

Method 1: Change the DNS Setting in Windows 10

While using AOL Mail in the browser, if a 502 Bad Gateway error appears on the screen, try to change the DNS settings.
  • Step 1: Click the Windows icon and select Settings.
  • Step 2: Click on Network & Internet > Ethernet.
  • Step 3: Now click the Network option below the Ethernet settings.
  • Step 4: Under IP assignment, click Edit.
  • Step 5: From the Edit IP settings, click the drop-down list and select Manual.
  • Step 6: Now toggle the IPv4 switch.
  • Step 7: Confirm the Preferred DNS and Alternate DNS addresses.
  • Step 8: Click the Save button to save the changes.

Again, open the AOL Mail in the browser. If the AOL Mail 502 Bad Gateway error appears on the screen follow the other methods to solve the issue.

Method 2: Refresh the AOL Mail web page

  • Step 1: If the 502 Bad Gateway error code appears on the AOL Mail web page, refresh the current web page to solve the error.
  • Step 2: To refresh the web page, click the F5 button on the keyboard or click the refresh icon in the browser.

Method 3: Check the AOL Mail Server status

When you try to reach the AOL Mail site, if it is down, check if the site is down for other users. There are many tools to check the server status. Open any tool and see the AOL Mail server status. Suppose you get the report that the site is down for everyone; the problem is on the server-side, so try to visit the AOL Mail site after few hours.

Method 4: Clear the browser’s Cache and Cookies:

  • Step 1: Open the default browser and go to Settings.
  • Step 2: If you are using Chrome as the default browser, click the horizontal dotted line and click Settings.
  • Step 3: Click Advanced setting and click the Cookies and other site data check box.
  • Step 4: Click CLEAR DATA.

This will clear the AOL Mail 502 Bad Gateway error from the browser.
