- Step 1:First, check if you could access your AT&T email account using a web browser.
- Step 2:If you can access it, check the email server settings on your email client.
- Step 3:If you have configured the AT&T email account on Outlook, launch the Outlook app.
- Step 4:Click the File tab available at the top-left corner of the screen and select Info from the left-side panel.
- Step 5:Click on Accounts Settings and click the Email tab.
- Step 6:Select your AT&T email account and click the Change button.
- Step 7:Next, check whether you have selected IMAP in the Account Type drop-down menu.
- Step 8:Make sure that you have entered the correct email address and password.
- Step 9:Check whether you have entered ‘imap.mail.att.net’ in the Incoming mail server field.
- Step 10:Also, check the outgoing server details and server ports in the Internet Email Settings window.
- Step 11:Save the changes and check if the problem has been resolved.
- Step 12:If the problem persists, click the File tab in the Outlook window.
- Step 13:Select Account Settings and click the Manage Profiles button.
- Step 14:Click the Show Profiles tab and select your AT&T email account.
- Step 15:After selecting your account, click the Remove button.
- Step 16:Once you have removed the AT&T email account, add it again and re-configure the server settings manually.
- Step 17:Open the Outlook app in Safe mode.
- Step 18:To do so, launch the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows + R shortcut keys.
- Step 19:Enter ‘Outlook /safe’ in the text box and hit the Enter key.
- Step 20:Once the Outlook app is launched in Safe mode, check if the problem has been resolved.
- Step 21:If the IMAP.mail.att.net is not responding problem due to the DNS settings, change the DNS server to a public DNS (Google).
