- Step 1:On your iPhone, ensure that you have a standard Internet connection.
- Step 2:Verify with your email service provider to determine if there is an email service outage.
- Step 3:Tap the Settings icon on the applications screen to open the Settings app.
- Step 4:Select Passwords & Accounts in the Settings window and tap Fetch New Data.
- Step 5:Choose either the Automatic or Manual option to make the Mail app to fetch data or schedule how often the app should fetch data.
- Step 6:In general, Mail fetch is set to automatic by default and your iPhone will fetch new data in the background while charging and connected to Wi-Fi.
- Step 7:Next, check if the Notification settings are correct for your Mail app.
- Step 8:Launch the Settings app and tap Notifications.
- Step 9:Select the Mail option and tap on your email account to adjust Alerts, Sounds, and Badges.
- Step 10:If the problem persists, restart your iPhone and open the Settings app again.
- Step 11:Tap the Passwords & Accounts tab and choose your email account.
- Step 12:After selecting your email account, tap the Delete Account button.
- Step 13:Return to the previous window and tap the General button.
- Step 14:Select the Software Update option and follow the on-screen prompts to update your iPhone.
- Step 15:Next, open the app switcher by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or double-tapping the Home button.
- Step 16:Touch and hold the Mail app and swipe it up. Doing so will force quit the Mail app.
- Step 17:Turn off and on the Airplane mode and restart your iPhone.
