Windows 10 Mail App Not Opening

Mail app on Windows 10 is the built-in email client that manages multiple email accounts. Windows 10 Mail App not opening, follow the below-mentioned troubleshooting methods to fix it. 

Solution 1: Check the privacy settings

  • Step 1:On your Windows 10 computer, open the Settings window by pressing the Windows + I shortcut keys.
  • Step 2:Alternatively, click the Start menu and click the Settings icon to open the Settings window.
  • Step 3:Next, click on Privacy and select the Calendar option from the left-side panel.
  • Step 4:Toggle on the Calendar button underneath Let apps access my calendar.
  • Step 5:Toggle on the Mail button below the Choose apps that can access calendar option.
  • Step 6:Now, try opening your Windows 10 Mail app.

Solution 2: Install Windows updates

  • Step 1:Open the Settings app on your Windows computer and click on Update & security.
  • Step 2:Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Windows Update tab.
  • Step 3:Under Update status, click the Check for updates button.
  • Step 4:Now, your Windows computer will check for the available updates.
  • Step 5:If it detects any updates, it will download them in the background and update them when you restart your computer.
  • Step 6:After restarting your computer, open the Mail app and check if the problem has been resolved.

Solution 3: Turn off sync settings

  • Step 1:First, launch the Settings app by pressing the Windows + I shortcut keys.
  • Step 2:Click the Accounts icon and select the Sync your settings option from the left-side panel.
  • Step 3:Under Sync your settings, toggle off the Sync settings button.
  • Step 4:Next, restart your computer and check if you can open the Mail app.

Solution 4: Using Command Prompt and PowerShell

  • Step 1:On your Windows computer, open the Quick Access menu by pressing the Windows + X shortcut keys.
  • Step 2:From the pop-up menu, select the Command Prompt (Admin) option.
  • Step 3:In the Command Prompt window, type ‘sfc /scannow’ and hit the Enter key to scan your system files for issues.
  • Step 4:If the problem persists, type ‘get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage’ and press the Enter key.
  • Step 5:This will fix the Windows 10 Mail App not opening problems on your computer.
