Yahoo Mail Outlook Settings is quite simple and easy than you think. Before you add your Yahoo email account to the Outlook app:

Log in to your account

Enable POP or IMAP forwarding

Allow less secure apps from the Account Security section

Once you are done with the preparation, proceed to set up the account in the email client. To set up Yahoo Mail in Outlook, you need these settings.

POP:

Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com

Server port number: 995

Security type: SSL

Username: Yahoo Mail ID

Password: Yahoo email account password

IMAP:

Incoming mail server: imap.mail.yahoo.com

Server port number: 993

Security type: SSL

Username: Yahoo Mail ID

Password: Yahoo email account password

SMTP:

Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Server port number: 465 or 587

Security type: SSL or TLS

Configuring Yahoo Mail Settings In Outlook 2016 App:

  • Step 1:First, launch the Outlook app by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop for Yahoo Mail Outlook Settings.
  • Step 2:Next, click the File tab and select the Info option from the left-side panel.
  • Step 3:Click the Add Account button below Account Information.
  • Step 4:On the Auto Account Setup screen, select the Manual setup or additional server types option and click Next.
  • Step 5:On the Choose Service screen, select the POP or IMAP option and click Next.
  • Step 6:Now, you have to configure the Yahoo Mail settings.
  • Step 7:Under User Information, input a name for your email account in the Your Name field.
  • Step 8:Next, input your email address in the Email Address field.
  • Step 9:In the Server Information section, choose IMAP or POP as your account type from the drop-down menu.
  • Step 10:Input the incoming and outgoing mail server names in the required fields for Yahoo Mail Outlook Settings.
  • Step 11:Under the Logon Information section, enter your Yahoo email address in the User Name field and your Yahoo email account password in the Password field.
  • Step 12:Click on More Settings to open the Internet Email Settings window.
  • Step 13:In the Outgoing Server tab, select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
  • Step 14:Remember to select the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option as well.
  • Step 15:Jump to the Advanced tab and input the server port number for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
  • Step 16:Choose SSL or TLS from the drop-down menus and click OK.
  • Step 17:Click the Test Account Settings button to verify the configured Yahoo Mail Outlook Settings.
